“Ok, but please be quick as I am damn busy today” nothing summarizes the “Milanese” better than this sentence.

Milanese people appear to be born with a business instinct: they are direct, practical (too practical), and always in a hurry (or pretend to be…). And everyone who comes here quickly becomes accustomed to this rollercoaster. Despite this, it is undeniable that Milan is a bustling and dynamic city, where the pace of life can feel exhilarating and fast-moving. Events like this 5km run can be a great way to immerse oneself in the energy and excitement of the city.

We start at the Duomo. After seeing its magnificence, a bit of history and some fun-facts, we will run along Corso Vittorio Emanuele to reach San Babila square and its famous church. Then, we will turn towards the Quadrilatero della Moda and the worldwide famous Via Montenapolenone, where we will have the chance to admire Milan’s most iconic upscale boutiques. Be warmed up enough after we take Via Manzoni, in case you may want to do an impromptu “rond de jambe”, we will pass by Piazza della Scala and its famous Teatro, Palazzo Marino and Da Vinci Monument!

If you’re in search of some additional shopping opportunities, you’re in luck! The Galleria is the ideal location to indulge in some retail therapy! Don’t forget to take in the stunning floor mosaics while you’re there – the depiction of the bull is believed to bring good fortune to those who view it.

If glitter isn’t your thing and you’re in the mood for some art, we’ll also have the opportunity to visit the bohemian district of Brera, home to the legendary Pinacoteca. Here you can admire an impressive collection of famous Italian artworks, and who knows, perhaps we might even discover a talented painter to create a portrait for you, just like a true “Signore di Milano!”

And then we will make our way over to the Castello Sforzesco and the beautiful English-style Parco Sempione that lies just beyond its walls. Passing through the fortress’s grand brick courtyard, we’ll enter a realm that seems to transcend time, surrounded by the serene ponds and lush greenery of one of Milan’s most beloved public parks. Keep an eye out, though – the local squirrels are known for their love of snacks, and your granola bar might just be too tempting to resist! ????

But Milan wouldn’t be Milan without some business. If you’re interested in checking up on your stocks, you may do so when we visit Palazzo Mezzanotte in Piazza Affari. Who knows, there might even be a company going public during your visit. For those who prefer a more historic approach, the medieval Piazza dei Mercanti offers a glimpse into Milan’s past as a bustling center of commerce and trade.

Then back to the main road to return to Piazza del Duomo, where our tour ends.
