DO YOU CANCEL IF IT RAINS OR SNOWS?
No, we do not normally cancel our tours if it rains, snows, storms, etc. We consider only a cancellation if we expect a heavy thunderstorm or winter storm. If this happens we will let participants know in advance either via email or by phone. However, in occasional very harsh weather (to be determined by your guide), you may be offered to return at a later time, to postpone for another day or a full refund.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Lyon has a temperate climate. The temperatures are mild in spring & fall, cold winters, and warm summers. It is always a good idea to check the weather conditions before traveling to Lyon, so that you know what temperatures to expect.
Light running equipment is sufficient in spring and summer. Sunglasses and sun protection are necessary during these seasons whereas caps, sunglasses and sun protection (sun lotion SPF 50+) are mandatory for children joining us on a tour. In addition, it is recommended that you pack light rain gear in fall and winter.
Comfortable sport shoes are sufficient. This said, it is recommended that you wear road running shoes.
Please, check the forecast the day before the tour in case it rains or it’s cold and dress accordingly. Keep in mind that we stop during the tour, so in colder weather an extra layer is recommended.
IS THERE WATER ON THE TOUR?
It is recommended that you bring your own water for the run. There are a few public water fountains along some of the tour routes, so if you are in need of a sip of water, simply ask the guide to point out a drinking spot.
HOW FAST DO YOU RUN ON THE TOURS, DO I HAVE TO BE AN ELITE RUNNER TO PARTICIPATE?
The running pace is set on our private tours by you. For scheduled tours the running pace is generally set at around 6 minutes per kilometre. Alternatively, if you are keen to prepare for a race, please let us know the pace you’d like to run at when booking online.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO STORE BAGS AND CLOTHES AT THE PLACE WE START?
No, it is not. We recommend that you arrive at the meeting spot ready to run and without anything to store. Please speak to us if you have a problem in order for us to see if we can accommodate your specific needs
IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE PICTURES ALONG THE WAY?
Yes, you can bring your camera or telephone to take photos. The running guide will also take pictures along the route, and if there is a certain place you would like your picture taken, then simply ask your guide. The pictures will be shared with you after the tour by email.
DO YOU HAVE A HOTEL PICK-UP SERVICE?
We offer for our private tours an optional hotel pick-up service. The hotel or apartment building should be on or close to the tour route.
Please let us know your complete hotel or apartment address during the tour reservation process and we will check if we can meet you at your hotel/apartment.
CAN I RUN WITH MY CHILD IN A STROLLER ON A TOUR?
Yes, please let me know in advance about it. I recommend to request an early morning tour if bringing a stroller, as the streets are quiet. Unfortunately, we can't provide you with a stroller.
CAN A CYCLIST ACCOMPANY ME?
Yes, he/she counts as a normal participant. The cyclist should bring their own bicycle.
CAN I RUN WITH MY DOG?
Yes, if your dog is trained to run on a lead. Running without a lead is not permitted.
HOW DO I BOOK AND PAY FOR A TOUR?
All tours are booked and paid for through our online booking system. All booking must be done at least 24 hours before the day of the tour. Your tour is only confirmed after we have replied to you by e-mail or text.
ARE THERE STOPS ALONG THE ROUTE?
Yes, tours have pre-determined short stops for appreciating the sites and for taking photos and possibly taking a drink. This said though, we are always willing to stop or walk on request!
In the event that you would prefer to run the tour without stopping, please let us know before starting.
