Welcome to Cluj-Napoca! Welcome to “the heart of Transylvania”
Cluj Napoca is a wonderful city that has it all. It is the 2nd biggest city of Romania, after the capital-Bucharest and it is proud to have one of the largest Universities in the country, the “Babes-Bolyai” University. Also, here we have one of the greatest Gothic style churches in Transylvania with the highest tower in the area. The first ethnographic museum in Romania is also situated here and we have an amazing botanical garden with over 11000 species. The architecture with many palaces and what is left from the city walls, will for sure charm you. It is also an important business center where many international companies have opened offices.

Every morning fancy and tasty coffee shops assure you a great start of the day. During lunchtime it would be hard to choose between cozy restaurants and nice bistros. As it becomes night you just have to decide whether you would like to enjoy a glass of wine, or have a beer in a pub, or perhaps dance all night long in a club.

With many international festivals such as TIFF (Transylvania International Film Festival), TiMAF (Transilvania International Music and Art Festival), Comedy Cluj, International Guitar Festival, Transilvania Jazz Festival, Electric Castle, etc. Cluj Napoca is a candidate city for 2020 European Capital of Culture. In 2015 Cluj Napoca won the title as European Youth Capital meaning that this year will host a lot of events.

You are bound to be fascinated by the surroundings of Cluj: Turda Salt Mine, Turda Gorges, Banffy Castle from Bontida, Tarnita Lake, Rachitele Waterfall, Apuseni Mountains, Rimetea. Also, do not miss the International Cluj Marathon that is waiting for you every year in April since 2010 and for trail running lovers Marathon Apuseni, Via Maria Theresia and Runsilva Tour are to be tried.
