I visit Asheville frequently but wanted a new route and also to learn more about this beautiful city. Both objectives were not only met, but exceeded with Bryan and Go! Running Tours. I not only learned new things thanks to his in-depth knowledge of the city, but also appreciated his recommendations of restaurants and things to do. I have done running tours in other cities too, but this was the first to send out a route and tracker along with the photos, which was a nice touch. Running tours are a great way to explore a new city- or new parts of a city- and I’m so glad Asheville has Go! Running Tours. Bryan said there will be other routes and distances added, and I’d definitely take advantage of them on upcoming trips to this beautiful city. If you are not lucky enough to live close to Asheville and are a first-time visitor, do yourself a favor and run with Bryan early in your trip so you can better appreciate all this city has to offer.
Asheville is a relatively small city and a vibrant cultural hub in western North Carolina. It is home to many microbreweries that give it the nickname Beer City. Despite its relatively conservative surroundings, Asheville has a strong liberal vibe, which is evident through the artists and hippies in the city. Our running tours in Asheville will explain this cultural contradiction and much more as you get your daily workout.
But Asheville is not just a lively arty city. Nestled between the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountain chains of the world’s oldest mountain range, the Appalachians, it is the perfect place for city and trail running. Our guided runs are almost a form of altitude training, at 600 metres above sea level. The city’s identity is inextricably linked to the mountains it sits on, so running in Asheville has a real pedigree.
Sightrunning in Asheville is a great way to experience this bustling little city’s culture, history, nightlife and the surrounding beauty. Not only can you see the sights, but you’ll get a peek into where all the locals hang out (shh!)
Asheville was listed in Runner’s World’s five running meccas article, and for good reason. The city is a pleasure to run in, so check out our running tours in Asheville. All you need are your running trainers for a totally unique and unforgettable tour.
