WHAT IS A SIGHTRUNNING TOUR?
It is a guided running tour that brings tourists, professionals on a business trip and French nationals to various attractions of a city by running. It is led by an experienced local runner.
CAN I REQUEST A POWER WALKING TOUR INSTEAD OF A RUNNING TOUR?
Yes, for short distances.
CAN I RUN WITH MY KID IN A STROLLER ON A TOUR?
Yes, please let me know in advance about it. I recommend to request an early morning tour if bringing a stroller, as the streets are quiet. Unfortunately, we can't provide you with a stroller.
CAN A CYCLIST ACCOMPANY ME?
Yes, he/she counts as a normal participant. Unfortunately, we can't provide you with a bicycle.
CAN I RUN WITH MY DOG?
Yes, if you keep him/her on a lead.
HOW DO I BOOK AND PAY FOR A TOUR?
All tours are booked and paid for through our online booking system. Your tour is only confirmed after we have replied to you by e-mail or text.
DO I HAVE TO BOOK IN ADVANCE?
Yes, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for my running tours. If a less notice is given, I will do my very best to arrange a tour for you. Simply contact me as soon as possible.
ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS?
Yes, you must be at least 18 years old to book a Running Tour. Minors have to be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
ARE THERE ANY HEALTH RESTRICTIONS FOR THE TOURS?
This is at your discretion. It is your responsibility as participant to ensure that you are healthy and able to participate at the tour. Participants under 18 years of old are the responsibility of their parents or legal guardians.
HOW IS THE WEATHER IN PARIS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR?
Paris has a temperate climate. So running tours usually go ahead even if it is sunshine, raining or snowing! However, in occasional very harsh weather (to be determined by your guide), you will be offered to return at a later time, to postpone for another day or a full refund.
WHAT CLOTHES DO I NEED TO WEAR?
Light running equipment is sufficient in spring and summer. Sunglasses and sun protection are necessary during these seasons whereas caps, sunglasses and sun protection (sun lotion SPF 50+) are mandatory for kids joining us on a tour.
I recommend you to pack light wet or hot weather gear in fall and winter.
Please, whatever the season, check the forecast the day before the tour in case it rains or it’s cold and dress accordingly. Keep in mind that we stop during the tour, so in colder weather an extra layer is recommended.
WHAT SHOES AM I SUPPOSED TO WEAR FOR THE TOUR?
Comfortable sport shoes are sufficient. This said, I recommend road running shoes.
DO I NEED TO BRING WATER?
Whatever your running level, I always recommend to bring a minimum of half a liter. Depending on the tour and if need be, you could refill at drinking water fountains along the route.
WHERE DO I MEET THE RUNNING GUIDE?
You’ll find the standard meeting point address in the chosen tour description.
If participants stay in zone 1 and at the same address, pick-up service is possible in front of your accommodation main entrance. In this case, please provide me your accommodation address when booking online or when contacting me. I will check then if we can start and stop the tour at your accommodation, if I can make you another meeting point proposal close to your accommodation and the tour route. If not, please meet at the standard meeting point.
Please bring along your mobile phone in case we need to contact each other.
HOW DO I IDENTIFY THE RUNNING GUIDE?
The guide will be easily identifiable by his running equipment.
HOW LONG DOES A RUNNING TOUR LAST?
That depends on the distance of the chosen tour. This information is available on your tour description. Whatever the distance, the time taken to complete a tour is always comfortable as it is not a race but a sight running tour.
The estimated tour duration also depends on your running pace. But, do not worry, whatever it is, I adapt my pace to yours. If you wish to be advised of an approximate timing according to your usual running pace and abilities before the day of the tour, please contact me.
ARE THERE STOPS ALONG THE ROUTE?
Yes, tours have determined short stops for appreciating & photo – taking the views, learning about sight histories & anecdotes, resting & drinking some water sips. This said, I am always willing to stop or walk on request!
In case you prefer running the tour non-stop, please let me know before starting.
WHAT IS THE PACE ON YOUR TOURS?
I adapt my pace to yours! Please do not worry, this is not a race.
Alternatively, if you are keen to prepare a race, please let me know the pace you’d like running when booking online.
CAN I TAKE PHOTOS ALONG THE WAY?
Of course you can at any time of your tour! Just let me know when you’d like to stop for taking photos. Each tour has also pre-determined sightseeing stops for photo-taking so you will get many Sightrunning souvenirs.
DO I BRING MY SMARTPHONE AND MY CAMERA (OR GOPRO)?
Feel free to bring along your smartphone, camera (or GoPro) to capture your memories. This said, please bring a light smartphone and a light camera (or GoPro). If needed, you can store them in my backpack.
By the way, I also take photos on the way. After the tour, I will upload them to Dropbox (to the cloud) and send you a link by e-mail. Please, just follow the link to have a look and to download the pics. This service is of course without extra charge.
