Let’s tour one of the most beautiful cities in Guatemala, Antigua together. Starting from the central park surrounded by the Palacio de los Capitanes, the Ayuntamiento Municipal and the Cathedral of San José, passing by the picturesque Tanque de La Unión where many newlyweds choose to have their photo session, the ruins of the Santa Clara convent, the former Capuchin convent, Go Run! up to the Cerro de la Cruz viewpoint on the asphalt and down the trail, visit the Church of La Merced also known as “wedding cake”, pass under the famous Santa Catalina Arch where the New Year is celebrated in the style of Times Square, pass in front of the ruins of the Church of the Company of Jesus and return to the Central Park.
All this through cobblestone streets, next to the majestic volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango visible from wherever you are, ruins of old convents, churches and government offices, art galleries, museums, shops of all kinds of articles, quaint restaurants and hotels, among many other curiosities that you are sure to love.
This route has a medium-high grade due to the inclination of the Cerro de la Cruz, suitable for strength training.
