Description
Time to hit the heart of Austin in your running shoes. Leaving from the Littlefield building, an iconic Austin landmark on the corner of Congress and 6th Street. We’ll head East on 6Th Street and view the live music venues that make Austin the LIVE MUSIC CAPITAL of the WORLD. Next stop is the vibrantly restored historic Rainey Street district, where old homes have been converted to fun bars and eateries and unique food trailers. As we continue our running tour we take in Lady Bird Lake, on the Town Lake trail. We’ll stop at a private location and take in this special section of the Colorado River. Then we visit the Bat Bridge, home to 3000 bats who nightly take flight for their nocturnal journey. We run passed the brilliant new Austin Library state of the art complex and arrive at Lance Armstrong’s Mellow Johnny’s cafe for a brief stop. Next stop is the Hope Outdoor Gallery, an urban art installation of graffiti. Finally we reach the gorgeous gardens of the Capitol Building and the Governors’ Mansion. We conclude back at our starting point on Congress for a refreshing beverage.

Had a personal tour with Ward. He’s such a great guide and made the whole run memorable. Prettt interesting and unique history. Highly recommend. I will do other routes with Ward when I’m back in town.

We had a group of 7 ladies for a bachelorette party do this run and our guides Ward and Mike did an EXCELLENT job! Since not everyone was the same fitness level, they came up with two different route options and the non-runners did a shorter jaunt while the runners did a longer one. Both Ward and Mike were super knowledgeable about the city, and had a nice mix of fun things about the city and historical facts.
I know that a run for a bachelorette party isn’t necessarily what most people think of, but it’s definitely worth doing and a really cool, unique way to see the city!
