Description
Do you know the difference between Graffiti and Street Art? Austin’s creative environment has a law to distinguish between the two, so artists can express themselves without criminal penalty. From edgy railway bridge art, controversial murals , and straight up creative brilliance. We’ll get up close and personal to these enjoyable, and inspiring pieces, and because we are on foot, we can stop and marvel at them for as long as we like!
The jewel in the crown is the Hope Outdoor Gallery. This community park is an educational, non-profit project. It is the only paint park of its kind in the USA and was developed to provide muralists, street artists, and community groups the opportunity to display large scale art pieces driven by inspirational, positive & educational messaging. Crossing over to the “edgy” EAST SIDE, we will marvel at the array and multi colors where this side of the city expresses its unique character.
Food trailers and trucks abound the area, tantalizing your tastes buds from classic Texas BBQ, tacos with a twist, and gourmet donuts – try the FLYING PIG, Bacon with Maple Syrup Icing! Or FAT ELVIS, Grilled bananas and bacon with peanut Butter and honey. There’s plenty more we’ll pass on the route. On our running tour we also touch Town Lake, The Capitol and and “dirty” 6th Avenue.

It was so nice to have a guide to not only bring me to safe places in an unfamiliar city but also provide such an educational historical tour as well!!! Couldn’t have asked for anything better!
