We will start the tour at the city centre, at Plaza Federico Moyua, with its beautiful gardens and fountain, surrounded by several relevant buildings such as Palacio Chavarri and Hotel Carlton, and then we will run through Gran Via, Bilbao’s main commercial street, towards Plaza Circular, where we will greet Bilbao city founder Don Diego Lopez de Haro.

We will head to the Old Town passing by Estacion de la Concordia and Teatro Arriaga, with their amazing Belle Epoque’s style, and we will run along Muelle de Marzana, the alternative side of modern Bilbao, full of enchanting pubs and art galleries, while getting an amazing view of Mercado de la Ribera – Europe’s biggest covered traditional market. We will then cross Puente de San Anton, Bilbao’s pure origin.

We will get into the bustling middle age Old Town with its so called 7 calles, and more than 700 hundred years history, passing through the main points and facts of interest for the bilbainos and foreigners: Catedral de Santiago, Fuente del Perro, Palacio Yohn, Plaza Nueva, Paseo del Arenal… as well as some other curiosities.

Then, we will run along the river visiting Bilbao’s Town Hall, with its majestic and eclectic style, and we will continue towards the new Bilbao’s most iconic buildings and constructions: Puente Calatrava, Torres Isozaki, the amazing Museo Guggenheim designed by Frank Gehry, Palacio de Congresos y de la Musica Euskalduna.

Once we arrive the revered Grua Carola, one of the reminders of our lifelong bond with the sea, the iron and the naval industry, we will turn to Bilbao’s main green buffer, Parque de Casilda Iturrizar, and we will take a look to the highest building in Basque Country, Torre Iberdrola, and the Museo de Bellas Artes (being refurbished now by Norman Foster and Luis Uriarte).

We will get then to visit Bilbao’s most known dog, our beloved puppy sculpture from Jeff Koons in front of Museo Guggenheim, and finally, after passing through Casa Montero, with its Gaudi’s modernist style. We will head back to Plaza Federico Moyua to end our Bilbao in a running pintxo tour.
