Description
This tour gives you the most fascinating attractions during shortest distance and time. This run is a great way to get the best view of city, run up to have the city at your fingertips from castle hill and then run down to have a close view of Old Town beauties. The tour begins in front of the Presidential Palace, continues along the Presidential gardens and then on to the archbishop’s summer residence. Then we go run up towards Bratislava castle.
Once we reach the castle, one of the major attractions in Bratislava, we are going to enjoy a unique view of three countries at the same time (Slovakia, Austria and Hungary). From the top of the hills we run back to the city through narrow historic streets of the old Jewish part of the town and down to another major attraction in Bratislava, St. Martin Cathedral. This beautiful gothic church served as the coronation church of the kings and queens of Hungary for almost 300 years (1563- 1830). Among others, Maria Theresa was crowned here in 1741.
We continue along the medieval fortifications to enter the Old Town to see the beautiful old houses and to run the same streets, which emperors used after their coronation and which traders for centuries used as a part of the Amber Road. We return to the Presidential Palace through medieval Michael’s Gate.
