Put on your running shoes and explore the best of New Zealand’s garden city with this fantastic must-see tour.
Starting in the city centre we will pass some impressive street art as we make our way to the Avon river trail via the famous Cardboard Cathedral, 185 white chair earthquake memorial and Latimer square. Off the beaten track we will escape the city hustle and follow the Avon river trail to North Hagley park, passing the iconic Christchurch Town Hall. Running under the colourful lane of cherry blossoms, we will make our way around the park to the stunning Botanic Gardens. Passing through a city garden like no other, we make our way past the world peace bell along with some other interesting sculptures, while timingly learning a lot about the history of Christchurch before exiting the gardens at the Canterbury Museum – an impressive place to visit after the tour.
Meeting back up with the Avon river, we will criss-cross our way back to the lively terrace, showcasing some of Christchurch’s best bars and restaurants as well as the Riverside Market, but not before paying our respects at the peaceful Christchurch Earthquake memorial wall and Bridge of Remembrance – our two biggest memorials. This tour exposes you to both the tourist destinations and hidden gems of Christchurch, the perfect mix of city and nature, for those wanting to see it all.
