You have made it to Christchurch and seen our beautiful city, why not explore the incredible running playground which is the Port Hills too? With a variety of fun trails on offer, let your local guide take you on a scenic loop around the local’s favourite spots and the best views of Christchurch and Banks Peninsula. Starting in Victoria Park (A 10 minute drive from the City Centre, easy car parking available or accessible via taxi/Uber), we will gradually climb our way up the Harry Ell Walkway while admiring the stunning views over Christchurch City and out to the Southern Alps.
Joining up with Cedrics Track, we will make our way around the Iconic Sugarloaf Communication Tower, before moving onto Gilpins track. Take in the breathtaking views out over to Lyttleton port, known as the “Gateway to Canterbury”, before heading onto the Forest path of the Thomson Scenic Reserve. Crossing Dyers Pass Road, we merge onto the crater rim walkway – The rim of a long extinct Volcano. We complete a small loop on this track, taking in 360 degree views before heading back to Victoria Park via the Thomsons and Latters Spur Tracks. We will pass via the Famous Sign of the Kiwi Café which boasts the best café views of Canterbury, where we can stop for a coffee or a takeaway treat for after the tour.
