Runner on the ground - LENA AND MICHAEL

10 years of running

Denmark is known for its design and architecture and this is not by chance. The city is full of architectural pearls and on this tour runners will take in the breathtaking views of the iconic The Opera and the Copenhagen Playhouse.
We will run along the harbour and stop by some of the waterfront’s less known buildings and runners will learn the thoughts and ideas of the architects.
This tour will also pass some of the newest initiatives in terms of city development and we will illustrate how the efforts of making Copenhagen more alive and interactive are implemented. You will understand how Copenhageners “use” the city and what developments are being done to increase life quality in the city.
Don’t be surprised if your guide talks with immense passion about the buildings and city developments, as architecture (along with food) is something that can truly excite us.
We love the way the city continues to develop from an architectural perspective and we can’t wait to share this with you.

    Morning Run with Michael

    MJ

Michael picked us up at the hotel at 7:30 in the morning and the weather was crazy, sheets of rain blowing sideways and away we went…Michael was an excellent guide and completely engaging. An excellent way to start a visit to Copenhagen using architecture as a lens into Danish Life. He sent links afterwards for the interiors of buildings, coffee and bakery recommendations that were spot on. I would highly recommend a running tour with Michael. No pictures as the weather was that nasty but the run was still fun!

I really enjoyed this architecture tour of Copenhagen! My tour guide, Michael, was very knowledgable of Copenhagen architecture. I really appreciated the insights he provided on the role architecture and interior design have in the local culture. I especially found details on the local “stars” in Copenhagen architecture interesting. He was a fantastic resource for bakery recommendations as well! I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone.

Great way to get to know Copenhagen

    Rafi Bryl

There are few better ways to understand a place, it’s culture and it’s people through its architecture. Michael was a gracious and knowledgable guide, taking us around the main new buildings in Copenhagen, and through his deep knowledge we gained a better appreciation for Copenhagen, as well as Denmark in general. He was flexible in setting a time for us, and we were fortunate to have a private tour. We spent almost two hours running up and down the waterfront and observing buildings like the Opera house and the national library. I have no doubts in recommending this tour, and will no doubt try another one if and when I am back in this beautiful city.

    Architecture in Copenhagen

My running tour with Michael was even better than I expected! He picked me up from where I was staying and made the route with as many architecture stops as possible! I enjoyed his robust knowledge of architects, the public’s opinions of these projects, and future goals that Denmark has set. I enjoyed asking him other questions about Copenhagen and would recommend this tour to anyone who wants a unique perspective!

Excellent tour. Michael worked out a really good route taking in lots of interesting buildings and their stories. There was plenty of time to admire the building too. Thoroughly recommended.

    Lovely morning tour with Michael

    Wilson Verstreken

We had a nice early morning run with Michael. He showed us around the city and give us some nice insights of the architecture of the city. Eventhough we couldn’t make the mapped tour as planned, (because of some cramps of my running mate). Michael did a nice effort detour to show the city in the calculated time.

So make sure that you have some running experience before heading over the 4K run.

    Copenhagen from a new angle

I had a blast running with Lena on my third (!) tour with gorunning in Copenhagen. I have been in Copenhagen lots of times, but the Architecture Tour gave me a new perspective on the city. And a nice endorphin boost to keep me going for the rest of the day.
