The Deer Garden is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and as you run amongst the trees , breathe in the fresh air while being surrounded by deers, you understand exactly why. This is indeed a unique opportunity to run in the old forest park which for many hundred of years have been the hunting grounds of successive Danish kings.
This is a half day tour and the route that we run is both incredible beautiful and also very historic. You will see the feeding grounds for the deers, take in the breathtaking view of the Eremitage Castle and run past some of the biggest oak trees in Denmark with circumferences of 10 meter. We will stop for refreshments and take in the beautiful nature and breathe in the peace and quiet. This is true balm for the soul!
The tour includes refreshments and energy along the route, but runners should bring (and carry – yikes!) their own water on the run.
Copenhagen Trail Running in the Deer Garden
This is the type of tour where you run and find yourself going ”aaaah”. And whether it is spring, summer or winter, this tour is nothing less than amazing.
The Deer Garden is located 20 kilometers outside Copenhagen, and we will meet by the park. It is a super easy train ride (or drive) from the city centre to Klampenborg Station, and the meeting point is about a 3 minute walk from the station. The meeting point for this tour is by the red gate that is the entry into the garden at Peter Lieps Vej. There are many red gates at the Deer Garden so make sure its the one at Peter Lieps vej.
Distance – 10 – 20 km – please choose the number of kilometers you would like to run during the booking process.
