On this running tour, guests will experience a whole different, but equally exciting, side of Vienna – a city which is mostly known for its magnificent imperial architecture. Modern Architecture has, however, in recent years increasingly characterised Vienna and our run leads us to Danube Island and some of the newest constructions and architectural pearls of the city.
The running tour starts in a classy way with a great sight at the Giant Ferris Wheel in green Prater. After following Vienna’s most famous running route, we pass Ernst Happel Stadium and the Krieau Race Track, a really out of the ordinary sight directly followed by one of the most modern business and residential parts of town.
Continuing the running tour, we will reach the bank of the Danube as well as the Imperial Bridge that leads us to the main attraction – Danube Island. From the island runners have a beautiful view of Vienna’s skyline with the Vienna International Center and Donau City Tower making their unique mark on the skyline.
Continuing over the Danube once again we will find ourselves running between the buildings we just saw from a distance. As we make our way through Danube Park we will reach Donau City before heading back to “old” Vienna, where the impressive St. Francis of Assisi Church awaits us. Last but not least we will run through multicultural “Stuwerviertel” and finish in “Wurstelprater”. As one of the oldest amusement parks in the world Wurstelprater is quite the opposite of the green island we just a moment earlier found ourselves running.
Since this is a private tour, you will define the pace and have plenty of time to take pictures, if you so wish. There will also be at least one drinking water station during the run (only during summer).
