Description
Everything is bigger in Texas, and while Uptown Dallas might seem small, many BIG things are happening around here. For this Uptown run, we will meet in Victory Park at the American Airlines Center. It’s home to the Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Stars and hosts hundreds of concerts a year.
From there, the run heads to the start of the central artery of Uptown, the famous Katy Trail. The Katy Trail is an iconic Dallas destination for walking, jogging, and cycling. It runs deep through the heart of Dallas. Discover what makes the trail unique and how it became such an important center of Uptown.
We will run by popular bars, hidden parks, and hip restaurants. After that, we’ll continue through the historic Turtle Creek neighborhood. We probably won’t see any turtles. But we will discover a beautiful, hidden oasis in the middle of one of the most densely developed parts of the city.
Back to Uptown Dallas
From there, the run heads back through Uptown. It’s known for its vibrant bars and buzzy restaurant scene, making it the heart of the social life of Dallasites. We will run along McKinney Avenue, where a free vintage trolley trundles past boutiques selling high-end fashion, luxurious hotels known to house celebrities when they visit Dallas and other boujee locations.
The final spots of the running tour consist of the Harwood District, which offers gardens, museums, and art-filled high-end residential homes and restaurants. The tour concludes back at the American Airlines Center. Here you can freshen up with a drink at one of the many shops in Victory Park.
