We start our run with a visit to the origins of Dublin, Dubh Linn, to see how this intimate city began. No Dublin visit would be complete without a snapshot of the iconic Guinness Gates. Here, we dive into Dublin’s layers of history while venturing through the colorful Liberties. The Liberties offers a view of new and old Dublin sites and is the home of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, where our native saint baptized the locals.
We continue down the quays of Dublin’s River Liffey to the magnificent Pheonix Park. It’s home to the Zoo, the president’s home, wild deer, and miles and miles of rolling grass fields. If you like being outdoors and close to nature, you’ll love Pheonix Park. It’s a gem in the middle of the city.
We continue our way back into the literary quarter of Dublin while stretching out through the cobblestones of Temple Bar. Afterward, we’ll stop briefly to view the Liffey River from the Ha’penny Bridge.
Our tour ends with the views of the Georgian Dublin buildings on Merrion Square and a visit to James Joyce and Oscar Wilde’s familiar settings. Finally, we jog by Dublin’s entertaining pubs on Baggot Street and end with a peaceful finish in St. Stephens Green City Park.
This half marathon tour is an amazing opportunity to run through the best of Dublin’s fair city, where you will experience insider knowledge of the personality of the neighborhoods. You’ll enjoy all the sights in the company of a local Dublin native.
