DUBLIN NORTHSIDE IS THE BESTSIDE TOUR - 10K
Runner on the ground - DAVID
We start our run by the river Liffey in the city center then make our way to Smithfield square, a former cattle market, now a bustling cultural quarter.
Then we stop off at Croppy acre park, and get to meet Anna Livia, a monument of a mythical woman which is a personification of the river which runs through the city. Then we make our way to one of Dublin hippest neighborhoods, Stoneybatter, a quirky district voted by Time Magazine as one of world’s coolest (pay close attention to tips for some of the best pubs and food options in Dublin!).
The next stop is Blessington basin, known as Dublin’s secret garden, then we make our way to the Royal Canal and learn about its connection to some iconic figures of Irish literature whilst enjoying with a terrific view of Croke park, the fourth largest stadium in Europe, home to our native sports, hurling, camogie, and Gaelic football.
We make our way towards Dublin port and see such iconic sights as the harp bridge, better known as the Samuel Beckett bridge, the Jeanie Johnston famine ships and famine memorial statues before finishing our tour back in the city centre.
This run is a great opportunity to see some lesser visited areas and get inside knowledge of some of its coolest neighborhoods while getting close to some of Dublin’s most iconic landmarks.
