An emotional ride through some of Florence’s urban masterpieces created by the Medici family.

This tour brings you to some of most spectacular spots in Florence. Starting at the Ponte Vecchio we run uphill to Piazzale Michelangelo, the best sightseeing point from which you’ll admire the so called “cradle of Renaissance”. Thereafter we run on the hill from which we can spot the romanesque abbey of San Miniato, one of the oldest churches in Florence with a magnificent decoration in green and white marble.
There we run along the the picturesque Erta Canina, a narrow street going down back to the city center. Runners will pass through one of the gates of the remaining parts of the city wall before we reach the Pitti Palace, the Medici court, the biggest historical palace of Florence facing the marvelous garden of Boboli.
After crossing the river again via the ancient Ponte Santa Trinita we will dive in the green heart of Florence, the Cascine park, Cosimo I de’ Medici farming estate. This huge park combines a romantic feeling with the scientific interest of a Botanical Garden. Running this tour, you will find yourself diving into the magnificence of the Medici dynasty.
When the morning sun plays with the colors of the ancient stones and thousands of different leaves, you can feel the thrill of history on your back. This tour is suitable for every kind of runner and the slope uphill is short and easy.
The tour duration is up to your personal pace, but just to have and idea it usually takes from 1 to almost one and a half hours.

I booked this tour summer 2023 to have someone to run with while I was vacationing in Italy while training for the Chicago Marathon. This experience was my most memorable and enjoyable experience of the entire trip.
Lapo was my guide and took pictures at all the sights. I loved all the local secret spots and history he was able to share in addition to all the main spots.
The pace is conversational and there is water fountains along the route.

This was a wonderful tour and the highlight of my Florence visit! We visited all the cathedrals, and Medici castles while running on cold weather. The cold weather didn’t stop me from running as Lapo continuously explained every detail of Florence History. On top of that he recommend the best T Bone steak…. Overall i would highly recommend this route, the best way to explore the city is through Lapo’s running route

Fantastic run with Lapo in Florence. Great to run with a local to receive wonderful insights about beautiful Florence while also having great running company.
