About the Routes
The Edelweiss
Distance: 58 km and 3200m of ascent – a tough but beautiful trail (no pain, no gain!). Run through the stunning ridges, stumbling upon forgotten villages and enjoy the wild terrain. There are some technical sections, so be wary!
This can be done as an individual, as a DUO team where you start together, run together and finish together and as a RELAY.
The Edelweiss as a Relay
If you do it as a relay, the course is split into 3 sections:
Route 1: From start to Rabou | Distance: 22km | Ascent: 1310m
Route 2: From Rabou to Col de Gleize | Distance: 16.2km | Ascent: 1298m
Route 3: From Col de Gleize to finish | Distance: 20.5km | Ascent: 603m
The Trail des 3 Cols
Distance: 50 km and 2600m of ascent – a new route that opened in 2018. It runs between SuperDevoluy and Gap taking in three magnificent cols.
The Cretes
Distance: 27 km and 1200m of ascent – an astounding run with a steady consistent climb, beautiful ridges and rolling descent.
The Saint-Mens
Distance: 14 km and 650m of ascent – a good route for new runners and walkers who are experiencing the world of trail running for the first time.
The Ladies Trail
Distance: 6 km and 250m of ascent – A fun little trail that runs up onto the hill of St Mens through the woods above Gap. No rankings for this trail.
The Mini Kids Trail
Distance: 800m – Don’t wanna leave all the running fun to the grownups. Join the kids’ trail that runs in a loop. It is done one or more times depending on the age group (<8, 8-12, 12<).
All the trails are waymarked (no navigation requirements) and it is possible to get soft drinks and snacks at the refreshment stops. Safety and security are well managed with first aid posts strategically positioned around the courses and a red cross tent at the arrival.
There are no kit restrictions so you can wear whatever you like and you don’t need to carry any of your own security or safety equipment.
