GREEN PARKS BUENOS AIRES TOUR – 6K
Runner on the ground - DAMIAN
Buenos Aires Green Parks tour will take you through a beautiful park where you will feel a real running atmosphere – this is the place most runners choose to train and go for a jog. Inside Thay’s Park you will discover many significant sculptures, including Marta Minujín’s United Nations Statue, Fernando Botero’s “male torso”, Alejo Afani’s Pro Cultura Nacional, Néstor Basterretxea’s El Árbol (The Tree), donated by the city’s Basque community, and The Hemerocalis Monument, a beautiful, gigantic flower made by the artist Eduardo Catalano.
But it’s not all parks, ponds and beautiful, ancient trees – you will also see very important city buildings and landmarks. You will pass by the Faculty of Law, an imposing 1949 neoclassical building, home of the University’s law faculty and housing the Fundacion Costantini collection of more than 400 works of art. Following this, you will see Galileo Galilei’s Planetarium, a 1960s building resembling a UFO and the Japanese Gardens, the most relaxing place in Buenos Aires. The tour will also take in the national library which is on a hill, historic monuments like Monumento a los Españoles, The National Arts Museum (one of the finest art museums in Latin America, hosting works of El Greco, Goya, Rembrandt, Picasso, Cézanne and Rodin), the famous Recoleta cementery and a lot more.
