KUALA LUMPUR FOOD STREET SUNSET RUN - 9K
Runner on the ground - PATRICK
We’ll kick off from the heart of KL at Dataran Merdeka, right by the historical buildings. Our route will take us towards the River of Life, where the two important rivers of Malaysia meet. We’ll pass by the oldest Mosque in KL, Masjid Jamek, with its stunning Moorish architecture. From there, we’ll continue on the heritage trail, hitting up Central Market, the oldest market in KL, and even passing by the street that’s home to the oldest Chinese and Indian temples in the city.
It’s not just about the run. It’s also about the incredible food! Malaysians know that the best culinary delights aren’t found in fancy restaurants but at the hawker stalls on the sidewalks. Along Jalan Alor and Petaling Street, you’ll be blown away by the sheer number of stalls selling mouthwatering food and beverages. It’s a unique blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Western flavors that you won’t find anywhere else. We call it the “Marathon and Makanthon,” where we run to eat and eat to run!
Now we’ll burn off those extra calories, so we’ll make our way through KLCC park, with the magnificent view of the world’s tallest twin towers by our side. It’s a favorite spot for both local and visiting runners. Then, we’ll circle the Bukit Nanas Eco-Forest, with the KL Tower perched on top. Imagine being surrounded by the sights, sounds, and scents of a tropical rainforest right in the heart of downtown KL.
As we make our way back to the starting point, you can take a detour to Central Market to check out some authentic artifacts and local cultural products. And trust me, you won’t want to miss the view of the River of Life and Dataran Merdeka at night. KL is truly mesmerizing, so be prepared to fall in love!
So, lace up those running shoes, bring your appetite, and get ready for an unforgettable adventure in Kuala Lumpur!
