The perfect tour for runners who like a combination of history, hilly tracks and natural landscapes. This tour contains 1-2km old cobbled sections.
Your run starts at the Monument of Remembrance, named “Gëlle Fra”. Passing the Cathedral to the blessed Virgin, you will run through the justice quarter to the Eternal flame. Next up on the running tours is the Grand-Duchy Palace and the surrounding quaint alleys that almost wraps you in the city’s atmosphere.
Running over the Castle Bridge directly to the year 963, when “Lucilinburhuc” was built by Earl Siegfried, you will have one of the most beautiful panoramic views over the historical part of Luxembourg-City.
The running tour continues to the quarter Clausen along the “Plateau Altmünster”, through the hip urban living spot “Rives de Clausen” and brings you up to the Abbey Neimünster, a great venue for cultural events. This part of the tour is the most historical and rocky area, here you will run through the ruins of the fortress along the “Stierchen”, where you will have a spectacular view of the ring wall.
Running the “Valley of Uelzecht” you will have a great green route along the “River Uelzecht” switching to the “Valley of Péitrusse” where you will enjoy the charming green part of Luxembourg-Downtown to finally take the last pebbly steps back up to the “Gëlle Fra”.
