Starting from the amazing Dingli cliffs you can admire the vastness of the Mediterranean sea and the tiny island of Filfla, which was used for target practice by the British soldiers stationed here during World War 2. We will then run inland and past the ‘Buskett’ gardens which were built by the knights of St John to use as hunting grounds. Overlooking the gardens you’ll be able to see the imposing Verdala castle which was the Grandmasters’ residence.
Next stop is the Medieval city of Mdina which was the capital city before Valletta. Here you can admire the fortifications, Cathedral, alleys and fantastic views from the top. Exiting the beautiful main gate, we then run through the narrow streets of Rabat and admire the Parish Church of St Paul. Underneath lies a grotto (cave) where St Paul lived for 3 months and in which time we were given our Christian religion. Our run continues past the St Paul’s and St Agatha’s catacombs before running through the countryside, past the small village of Dingli and back to the cliffs where you can cool down whilst enjoying the fantastic views!
