This tour highlights the main attractions in Valletta, the capital city of Malta, built by Grandmaster Jean de la Vallette after the great siege of 1565. The run starts from the waterfront next to the cruise liner terminal, so also ideal for cruise liner guests.
Running along the sea our first stop are the Lower Barrakka Gardens and Siege Bell war memorial where you can admire the lovely views. Other attractions on the way, are the old hospital, which was used by both the knights and the British soldiers during World War 2 and Fort St Elmo. The run takes us to the other side of Valletta overlooking Marsamxett harbour, Manoel island and Sliema. Running inside the city, we pass by Manoel theatre, St George’s square, the President’s palace, St John’s Co-Cathedral, the new parliament and main entrance to Valletta.
All sights and places of interest that are not only beautiful, but also rich in history. Passing by the magnificent Auberge de Castille, we run around the Upper Barrakka gardens to admire the views of the Grand Harbour before heading back down to the waterfront.
