Description
On this 6.5 mile tour, explore the sites of New York City’s riots and protests from the Civil War Era to present day.
We will meet and begin our run at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, a frequent meeting place for protests and demonstrations due to its proximity to the United Nations.
Following the routes of some of the most famous New York protest marches, we will find our way to Union Square, Washington Square, and Tompkins Square Parks.
This tour will finish at the originating home of the Occupy Movement in the financial district.
In addition to the sites we will visit, runners will learn about the history of protesting in New York and how it has changed the face of the city.
