NICE TINY COLORFUL STREETS AND AZURE BLUE SEA TOUR - 6K
Runner on the ground - ARMAND
This tour is a loop of 6km that starts at Place Masséna near the Statue of Apollo. We will start by following the “Coulée Verte” – a big park with a playground for kids on the theme of the sea animals. We will pass “Lycée Massena”, one of the oldest high school of Nice. Before reaching the harbour, the runners will see “Place Garibaldi” – a beautiful square where many events occur all year long.
We will pass through the harbour and see some beautiful yachts and perhaps one of the Corsica Ferries departing or arriving from Corsica. After seeing the “Monument aux Morts” – an historic construction built into a cliff. The runners will have a view on the sea and on the beautiful curve of the “Promenade des Anglais”. Beware of your hat, one local wind might make you loose it, that’s why one of the place we’ll pass is called “Rauba Capeu” = the thief of hats.
We will enter into the narrow streets of the old town “Vieux Nice” and the guide will show you the different paths to the small hill that surround the city. These tiny streets are emblematic and many bars and restaurants with local food can be found. Depending of the timing of the run, we will see the flower markets which occurs in the morning. We will finish the tour by running on the iconic Promenade des Anglais – until we reach the Negresco hotel, a building that was used as an hospital during the world war II. The guide will show you some rooftops where you could go grab a drink for recovery during your stay in the city and will give you a list of the must try local food.
