Description
Our walk tour explores the residential part of the city, which is characterized by quaint streets, art galleries, workshops, and museums.
During our tour, you’ll walk along the UN-controlled Buffer zone and pass by Famagusta Gate, one of the three medieval gates now being used as art centres. An example is the Municipal Cultural Center, the State Art Gallery, and the Printmaking museum. From here, we’ll pass by the Paphos Gate as we continue to walk along the medieval wall.
Following this path takes us to Eleftheria Square, where old architecture meets modern architecture for futurist architectural splendour.
Please understand that we will only cover the southern part of the walled city as outlined above. This is due to the pandemic where strict regulations have been laid against crossing the northern checkpoint.

We loved the tour, thank you! We really enjoyed how your personal stories were situated in the local/political context and offered a window into what it means to be living in the old part of Nicosia. We also enjoyed the fact that we were not bombarded with historical information but instead we develop an understanding of the history of Nicosia through your beautiful storytelling!
