Runner on the ground - FABRIZIO

10 years of running

Welcome to the 15 km “Rome Historic Centre Sunrise Tour”, the only tour in Rome that you will never stand in line for! This morning run starts before sunrise offering runners the rare opportunity to see a city simultaneously go to sleep and wakeup! As you run, the rising sun provides a rainbow of changing light on some of the most famous sights in Rome; Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Boca di Verità and Castel Sant’Angelo and the Pantheon. This unique experience allows you to see Rome’s most beautiful piazzas, Piazza Navona, San Pietro, Piazza Venezia- without tourists!

We start at Piazza del Popolo, where complex layers of Roman history played out and the central monument dates back to Ancient Egypt! Kilometer after kilometer unveils monument and architectural wonder, as we wind our way through one of Rome’s most popular shopping districts, stopping at the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. This 15 km loop leads you through the famous Forum’s of Emperors past and gives you a glimpse and photo opportunity of the Colosseum, rarely seen by tourists glowing in morning light. Cruising through one of Rome’s most Roman neighborhoods, Trastevere, you feel as though your surroundings have stopped in time. Roughly halfway through our adventure, and after a few sets of stairs we take in a bird’s eye view of Rome, with the waking sun blanketing a golden red over the countless cupolas that make up the Roman skyline.

No visit to Rome would be complete without a stop by Piazza del Rotonda to admire the Pantheon or Campo di Fiori– center of Roman social life by night and produce market by day. With historical monuments and stories around every corner, it is no wonder why Rome is often referred to the world’s largest open – air museum. Experience it all before the cars, noise and tourists retake the city! This private tour gives you all the sites and is lead by running guides who are eager to share their city with you! We will run this tour at your pace and are ready to stop for photos when you need. There are countless potable water fountains on the course, with water still brought in from the mountains by Roman Aqueducts! The tour is great for all types of runners, mostly flat with roughly 100 meters of uphill/stairs and will be run at your pace.

This is the most perfect way to start off a morning in Rome, what’s better than touring while running? Dario was a fabulous tour guide, going into great detail of the city. Definitely would recommend signing up, you will be so happy that you did it!

    Perfect Rome tour

    Selena

Seeing the Colosseum at sunrise is worth it alone, but we were blown away by the sights on this tour! Our guide Simone was amazing and shared little details alongside the history of all the places we stopped. I think we hit all the major places that were on our to-do list. The streets are mostly empty and it’s so beautiful to see the city before it wakes up. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who is able to run the distance at a comfortable pace! We went about 11 minutes per mile.

Exceptional, the highlight of our trip!

    Christine

Dario led us on an early morning running tour of Rome that was one of a kind and truly memorable. The route was crafted carefully and he was so thoughtful about the stops that my partner and I were in a “non-stop awe” throughout the run. We were definitely hesitant about booking the running trip (pace, timing, terrain) but can now gladly say that I 110% recommend d this running tour to anyone who loves to run and is new to Rome.

Dario is an expert about Rome and running. He took me to various famous historical sites in Rome with interesting stories as well as some amazing hidden gems. We started at 6am so no crowd, no queue, just us and the beauty of the Eternal City. Highly recommend. And Dario is a good photographer as well 🙂

    Awesome run

    Allison

Had a great run on a Saturday morning in Rome. Was here for vacation with my family, but wanted to get a longer run in. The heat, humidity, and hills in Rome are no joke. But the amazing scenery kept me feeling good. Definitely recommend this, especially for solo women runners who
Might be intimidated by finding a longer running route in an unfamiliar city.

    David

I did the 15K run on my own, with Dario, starting at 6pm.
It was perfect. Pre-run communication was good and no issues at all. Dario is an expert in both Rome and running. He matched my pace and made the experince both great fun and educational. I can’t recommend this experience more.

Fantastic early run with Dario completing a loop of Rome covering all major sites. My first day in Rome so a great way to get your bearings and for a running history lesson. Dario grew up here so knows Rome well. Pace was fine and we talked and ran. Highly recommend this tour.

First, of course running in Rome is spectacular being such an iconic city. But the is now was we would have seen all of the sights we saw on our own. Having a guide like Dario took this run to a whole new level. The history and navigating the Rome to see the sight was truly a bucket list run. Dario is fantastic.

My partner and I had the BEST morning with Dario. He collected us at 6 from our hotel, and took us on the most brilliant 15km loop of the city. His knowledge of Rome is remarkable, we had so much fun seeing all of the beautiful sights, and Dario took us via many awesome back streets that you just don’t see as a tourist normally.

I couldn’t recommend this more – it was such a great way to see Rome and start the day. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! thanks Dario!!

We had such a great morning with Dario and Febrizio. We couldn’t believe how fast the run went, and how much of the city we were able to cover. They had so many recommendations we wish we had done this at the beginning of the trip, but it was the perfect ending to the week. Highly recommend, nice pace and great conversation throughout. The 9-mile sunrise run with Dario was such a great addition to our tour around Italy. We were in Rome for 24 hours and the run not only have us a proper workout, but it also allowed us to squeeze the most juice out of our visit in the city. Even if we’d been staying for longer, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Couldn’t recommend more. Plus the running action shots from around the city are amazing!

    William Marder

Dario took me on a wonderful run through Rome today! It was beautiful. We started at 6:00 a.m. The City was empty. This allowed me to see the stunning architecture without the crowds. Dario is a great runner and a great tour guide. He explained all of the sights to me while also providing me with a great run. If you’re a runner, I highly recommend experiencing Rome in the early morning with Dario.

Our run with Daniel was really good. We are able to see most of the majors sites before sunrise so excellent pictures. Daniel was also very accomodating with the route to tailor it with what we already saw in the city. Daniel is very knowledgeable about Rome historical sites, restaurants, places to go visit. Definititely worth it and we recommend to everyone even runner debutants

Running through Rome in the early morning light was amazing! It was great to have Daniel as my guide. Not to mention he grew up within 20 miles of where I did in the US…small world moment! He explained the ancient history and current news about all of the places we passed. We had some great conversations. He did not mind when I stopped to take photos. It was a bonus that we did not have to weave through crowds of tourists. We essentially had the city and the famous tourist attractions all to ourselves. I loved the run and didn’t feel as guilty about eating so much pasta during my trip to Italy. I would recommend this to all of my running friends who want to run while traveling.

Running in the morning, before the hectic touristic rush starts, gives you the opportunity to see things you would not have the chance to later on the day. Paul

Daniel, my guide, was beyond professional, polite, and knowledgeable; he brought a personalized style to his tour. The tour gave me the ability to see a historic city from the level of the ancient city constructors. The tour allowed me to respect the years the city has changed and adopted its identities over the millenniums. My guide had skill in conversation as well as running. I was able to adapt my run from my hotel door extending my run to 18k. Daniel didn’t have to do this but he was more than willing to accommodate. I highly recommend this tour. If you’re lucky to be able to run with Daniel, your tour experience will be amplified ten fold. It was worth every cent!
