Description
We’ve hit the pavement hard to plan the perfect routes on this flexible but focused 6k tour of San Diego. It packs in everything amazing about downtown & the marina that you want to see, without making your mind or feet feel too overwhelmed. There is a unique calming quality to this coastal city that makes this informative, inspiring and fun 6k running tour just breeze by, even when we’re winding our way through the bustling business district of California’s 2nd largest city!
To go sight-running through everything downtown has to offer, check out our 10k tour that incorporates both the heart of the city and the beauty of the Embarcadero. If you’re looking for a slightly shorter and more focused tour, this is the one for you. We’ll still get plenty of action as we traverse through historic downtown on a customized exercise and education fuelled experience for you and your group.
The beauty of our private G0! Running Tours is the ability to build the run around your interests, and this tour is the perfect example of that. We’ve charted several different awesome routes that we can choose from that celebrate the different sides of downtown San Diego. If you’re into urban street running and old town history, we’ll focus our feet on routes that take us alongside century-old brick buildings like the Santa Fe Train Station and through the Gaslamp District and Little Italy. Even though this run will focus on the city streets and architecture, downtown is nestled on the bay, so we’ll definitely get to enjoy some of the sea breezes of the embarcadero as well. Your guide can also tell you how to best enjoy it after our run.
If, however, you’re all about being ocean side on your run, let’s take a calming 6k jog on our maritime route. We’ll still peek into the city and make sure to explore the streets of Little Italy, but this expedition is all about enjoying the lively embarcadero, marina, waterfront parks and Seaport Village along the bay. We’ll run through history, past pirate ships, 19th century Sailboats and modern military marvels like the USS Midway. On a sunny day, the bay is always full of boats, parks are spouting towers of water and people watching is at its best. From professional kite flyers and musicians to street vendors and artists, there’s always something interesting to see. As we run along the water on our journey, we’ll also enjoy amazing views of the city skyline and take some great pictures to remember your run along the SD bay.
So, whether you choose to stick to the city, run along the bay, or ask us to combine the best of both worlds, this 6k (or so) is an awesome introduction to the best of downtown San Diego and the bay.
