THE ROME HISTORIC BUCKET LIST GROUP TOUR - 8K (WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY)
Runner on the ground - GLAUCO
Welcome to the world’s largest open air museum run! The “Bucket List Group Tour 8km” historical center run offers you the chance to explore some of the world’s most famous piazzas and monuments. As you run, you’ll not only experience the rich history of Rome, but you’ll also discover the contrasts that define this incredible city and see for yourself why it’s called the Eternal City!
The journey begins at Piazza del Popolo, a grand and often misunderstood square where layers of Roman history intertwine, from the Ancient Egypt to Napoleon times. Key stops along the route include the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and the Pantheon. This unique experience also lets you enjoy Rome’s most beautiful piazzas, such as Piazza Navona, San Pietro, and Piazza Venezia, all without the usual crowds.
As we navigate through one of Rome’s popular shopping districts, with stops at the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, your guide will offer shopping and dining tips for this central area.
Winding through Rome’s side streets, you’ll witness daily life unfold laundry hanging from centuries old windows, ivy covered walls, and possibly blooming bougainvilleas or fragrant jasmines if it’s the season.
No visit to Rome is complete without a stop at Piazza della Rotonda to admire the Pantheon, standing out not only for its impressive architecture and ingenious engineering but also for its lasting impact on the history and culture of both Rome and the world at large. Did you know it remains the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world?
This private tour is led by passionate running guides eager to share their beloved city with you! We’ll run at your pace and stop for photos whenever you wish. The route includes numerous potable water fountains, still fed by ancient Roman aqueducts!
The tour is perfect for all runners, featuring mostly flat city roads.
