VENICE'S MARATHON LAST STRETCH TOUR – 21K
Runner on the ground - ALESSANDRO
You are on the Libertà Bridge. The mainland is behind you and you are running at a steady pace. Around you, only water calm as oil. And then you see it: the city is getting closer. First you get a glimpse of the belltowers coming out of a pinkish mist; then it’s the green dome by the train station and finally you start to distinguish the fired brick houses. Venice lays out in front of you. A last slight climb and you have made it, you have reached Venice, time to dive in it!
We’ll speed through the streets following the steps of the athletes of the Venice Marathon, we’ll pass by the Zattere walkway and reach Punta della Dogana to enjoy the most beautiful view ever. We’ll catch our breath to continue on to the Accademia Bridge that will take us to Saint Mark’s Square, “the” piazza of Venice. We’ll trot through it, passing by Saint Mark’s Basilica with its golden facade, the arcades of the Doge’s Palace, the 100 hundred meter high Belltower, the ancient Clock Tower and the Piazzetta. We’ll leave the square and proceed to Riva degli Schiavoni, a bright and wide street that runs alongside St. Mark’s Basin where we will cross the last 7 bridges, the ones that will finally take you to the coveted finish line in Riva dei Sette Martiri.

I had a great run with Giorgia! She was very knowledgeable about Venice and provided a great tour of all of the key sites throughout the different neighborhoods of the city. She also was a greater motivator throughout the run. She had several water stops planned throughout the city, which was helpful with the hot weather.

I had a great run with Giorgia this morning. Heavy fog meant some of the sights were hard to see, but it was very spooky and atmospheric running through the piazzas and narrow alleys before taking the bridge to the mainland and back. Giorgia is a wonderful guide (and an incredible runner!) I learned so much about Venice and about running! I can’t imagine a better start to my trip – highly recommend. Grazie!

Giorgia was an amazing running guide. She is so knowledgeable about Venice. She kept a perfect pace for us and made the run enjoyable. She met us right on time at our hotel and delivered us back after 21KM and a spectacular morning sunrise. Grazie Millie!

Alessandro was very focused on delivering not only a good run, but also a great experience. He tailored the run to my pace and goals for the day while sharing some of the most beautiful sites in Venice along the way. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Alessandro was my running guide and did a great job. He met me at my Airbnb in the morning and had a great route planned. We did half marathon which started on the island. We then took the bridge to the mainland where he had a water stop planned. Then back over the bridge and running over bridges and all different side streets. We stopped as often as I wanted for pictures. There was another water stop on Venice. Was a great experience and I am so happy I was able to do this.
