ORLANDO WINTER PARK – 5K

Situated just north of Orlando, the Orange County city of Winter Park was once considered a winter resort. In Winter Park you will find more than 70 parks, all home to various events, festivals and celebrations throughout the year and available to anyone looking for a place to run in the shade while enjoying a beautiful Central Florida afternoon. Today, the arts and culture filled city of Winter Park includes Rollins College, Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of Natural Art, the annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival, a Saturday morning Farmers Market offering everything from Artisan arts to fresh local farm produce and food. Winter Park is also a nature lover’s destination. With beautiful Spanish Moss decorating the tree-lined streets that you’ll traverse, while you take in the views of luscious gardens, the City of Winter Park will definitely delight and invigorate you.

The route starts in downtown Winter Park in beautiful Central Park. Considered the crown jewel of all the parks in Winter Park and conveniently located on Park Avenue in the heart of the downtown shopping district, this 11-acre park with its beautiful fountains, spectacular Rose Garden, landscaped planters and oak tree canopy bring thousands of visitors annually to admire its beauty.

From here, we will then head through the streets of historic downtown Winter Park to discover key buildings and famous sights along our run. Some of the most known sights include the Winter Park Railroad Station, Park Plaza Hotel, Union State Bank and Rollins College, just to name a few. Keep an eye out for jaw-dropping homes as we run through downtown neighborhoods along this scenic route throughout the city. Each home has its own unique character and is an architect’s paradise!

As the tour winds down and we return to Central Park, you’ll truly understand why this Orlando escape with its southern charm, is such a tourism hot spot!
