DALLAS

Running in  Dallas:

Dallas is the 3rd largest city in Texas after San Antonio and Houston. It’s located in North Texas, and if you include Fort-Worth, it’s the 4th largest metropolitan area in the U.S. with almost 8 million people.

Getting to Dallas is easy given it’s got one of the largest and busiest airports in the world at DFW Airport (or Love Field is a closer option to Downtown). Education is important to the area, with over 40 colleges and universities located within its metro area, including SMU, UNT, and UTD.
Dallas is also very well known for its food and sports, and those two things come together in a BIG way during the annual State Fair of Texas. There’s even a 52 foot ‘Big Tex’ statue that greets visitors (making it the tallest cowboy in Texas, and quite possibly the world!)

Dallasites take their sports seriously, as the area is home to 7 professional sports teams and over 200 golf courses.

Dallas is also home to a lot of firsts, including the first frozen margarita (the frozen margarita machine was invented in Dallas), the first planned shopping center in America at Highland Park Village, and the first convenience store (that being 7-eleven which got its start in Dallas and the corporation is still headquartered here today.)

Speaking of companies, the Dallas area is home to 21 Fortune 500 companies, including Exxon Mobil, American Airlines, JC Penney, AT&T, Texas Instruments, and others.
