Hello and welcome to Hanoi – the capital city of Vietnam.
My name is Minh. I am not a native of Hanoi but I call the city my home for nearly 20 years.
My enthusiasm for running started even earlier when I was in primary school. At that time when it came to running, I was one of the slowest. It undermined my confidence. There was only one way to take it back: to run further.
The hobby was formed at a very young age, but I had no idea it was more than just regaining my confidence. It allowed me to do more than just walk around in every place I'm fortunate enough to visit. It also helped me stay warm in London, where I studied for my master's degree.
When I got back to Hanoi, running helped me understand the city more, just like suddenly seeing good things from an old friend.
I run almost every day, and Hanoi, in the early morning is the polar opposite of it when everyone wakes up. You don't have to worry about traffic or polluted air because you can marvel at the blend of Vietnamese traditional and French colonial architecture. The city amazes me with new things every time I set foot to run in its pavements.
I believe you can learn amazing things while running on your own, and I can't wait to share all these with you! To run is to explore. To run is to learn! See you in Hanoi!
