This is not a guide of running routes, running tracks or where to buy your high5 gels. No no no – because what we have come to realise when we have been guiding our many running tours is that runners that visit Copenhagen want to know about restaurants, bars and the non-touristy things to do. We have our guests suspected of only doing running tours, so they with good conscience can let themselves loose on the Copenhagen restaurant scene.
We have compiled a free Copenhagen city guide with a few restaurants worth trying which are characterised by high quality food, and great wines and beer. They are at the ”bistro gourmet” level which means that you will be getting some great food without breaking the bank. Or you can break the bank in these places, but you don’t have to 🙂 . We have of course also included an article about the best bakeries in Copenhagen, because Danish pastry is a not to be missed and neither is the Ølandshvedebrød (keep reading and you will know what this is).
For the sightseeing section, my colleague Alexandra has written about some alternative sightseeing options that will guide you to the local neighbourhoods of Copenhagen and away from the beaten tourist track. You will read about the iconic towers of the city and also which towers you are able to climb to get the most stunning view of Copenhagen from above. The guide team has also contributed with their best suggestions of what to do in Copenhagen or what to avoid.
Finally, we have written about our various running tours, as we firmly believe that the best way to experience Copenhagen is on a running tour. Why ? Because if you run, then experiencing the city with a local runner who know the very best and most interesting routes in the city. The entire Running Copenhagen team is made up of happy, curious and passionate runners, and I promise you that you will enjoy their company. If you don’t you will be the first :).
Thank you for downloading our free Copenhagen city guide, and I hope that you will enjoy our recommendations. And perhaps we will see you on a running tour. We are ready, if you are!
Happy reading and happy running,
