I am Armand, I have been living in Nice for 30 years (I'm 34!) and I've been working in Monaco for 12 years. I started doing endurance sports such as running, cycling, swimming and skiing at 20. What I like about those sports is that it's an adventure every time; there is always something new to see or to feel. I think that we're explorers and no matter the weather or the mood, a short run will always be rewarding.
After some travels in Portugal and in Thailand I wanted to challenge myself and trained for a 10km running competition in Nice on the iconic “Promenade des Anglais”. After completing it, I increased my goals and after some years I was competing in Iron Man triathlons. I've completed 12 full distance triathlons! More recently I decided to focus more on my professional career as a software engineer so I reduced the cycling and I am doing more Swim Run competitions which are very fun.
I like the city where I live, I truly believe that the sea brings happiness. There are plenty of mountains nearby where I can go run and cycle; and a lot of experiences to live in Nice and Monaco. It's possible to travel between Nice and Monaco by train or by bus but I often use that 20km to train: imagine you finish your work, have a 20km run while listening at some music and seeing the sun setting in front of you – it's magical!
My best running time on a Marathon was 2h 30m in December 2021; I've got some nice goals for the years to come but most importantly, I want to keep doing that without turning professional, I'm doing that because it makes me happy.
