NICE PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS AND MONT BORON TOUR - 21K
Runner on the ground - ARMAND
This tour is a 21km circuit with two challenging climbs. The views from the top are worth the effort. We start at Place Masséna near the Statue of Apollo. We start by taking the eastern section of the “Promenade des Anglais”, we will pass Monument aux Morts – a historic construction built into a cliff and reach the harbor. The guide will show you some nice cafés / restaurants in the area. We will run next to a restaurant built around a diving board.
After a small climb we will continue towards Villefranche-sur-Mer – a smaller city that has one very popular beach. After having a stop with a view on the village, we will get back to Nice by climbing the Mont Boron, a 200m high mountain. Some sections are trails here, you should have adapted shoes for the run!
We will descend back to Nice and reach “Place Garibaldi”, an animated square throughout the year. We will enter into the tiny streets of the “Vieux Nice” – or the old town and climb towards “La colline du Chateau” where the guide will show you an artificial waterfall and some roman ruins. From there we will have a view on the beautiful curve of the “Promenade des Anglais” and the cupola of Saint Réparate church. We will get back to the old town and we will show you some bars where you could go party when you are not running. Depending of the timing of the run, we will see the flower markets which occurs in the morning.
The tour then goes to the “Coulée Verte”, a park that was built some years ago and that is appreciated by the locals. We will finish the tour by doing some recovery on a flat Promenade des Anglais. Our guide will show you some famous hotels such as Negresco, a building that was used as an hospital during the world war II. If you’re interested in rooftops, we will show you 2 rooftops where you could go grab a drink and admire the sunset.
