MODERN ATHENS TOUR – 5K

We take to the streets of Athens which are usually the most full: the old flea market, the central square… What is great about this run is that it not only gives us the strange satisfaction of carelessly jogging on streets where one can usually barely walk, but that it gives us the opportunity to enjoy some of Athens’ most emblematic buildings.Apart from the town hall and the flea market, both of which are quite interesting, this run takes us along the celebrated “Athenian Trilogy of Neoclassicism”. The trilogy of neoclassicism features arguably the three most important buildings of Greek modernity: the University of Athens, the National Library and the Academy of Athens.

Furthermore, this run acquaints one with what it means to be an Athenian today and features a part of Athens that is not pictured in postcards as often as the Acropolis!
