Description
This friendly 3 miler will show you all that’s hip and happening in Austin’s downtown. It may be short on miles, but BIG on Sights.
Leaving from the legendary Littlefield Building on the corner of 6th street and Congress, we’ll immediately learn about Angelina Eberly and her significance to the Austin landscape. The Capitol Building and Governor’s mansions are our next stops, with history and intrigue and a chance for a great photo in the magnificent gardens.
We run the flowing streets of Austin via the Bermond and Robertson family historic homes, and onto the infamous Mellow Johnny’s, Lance Armstrong’s Cafe/Cycle store and home to his 7 “yellow jersey’s”.
Using some unique downtown trails, we run past the new state of the art Austin Public Library, and onto the beautiful Lady Bird Lake. After passing by the Congress Street “bat bridge”, home to the largest bat colony in the world, we discover a hidden lakeside cafe at the Waller Creek Boathouse.
Finally we weave our way back to world famous “dirty 6th street” and learn why Austin is the Live Music Capital of the world. The Driskill Hotel is our final stop, the oldest operating hotel in Austin, and a legend of Texas.

My niece and I joined Ward and Brandon for a nice run around Austin. It was a great way to learn more about our favorite city. The guys were great at making sure the pace was comfortable for us and I look forward to trying one of their other tours next time I’m in town.
