DENVER MILE HIGH HIGHLIGHTS TOUR - 8K

Runner on the ground - SARA
This 8K running tour hits all the essential Denver landmarks while keeping things light, fun, and scenic.
We’ll kick things off at the iconic Union Station, where historic charm meets modern hustle. After a quick warm-up, we’ll jog past Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, and soak in the stadium’s energy before heading into the bold, colorful world of RiNo (River North Art District). Known for its ever-changing street murals and industrial-chic vibe, RiNo is a creative hub where every corner is a photo op.
From there, we’ll cruise through Five Points, one of Denver’s most historic neighborhoods. Once dubbed the “Harlem of the West,” it’s a rich tapestry of jazz, culture, and resilience. We’ll pass the Rossonian Hotel where legends like Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and Miles Davis stayed and played and other landmarks that speak to the neighborhood’s past and present.
Next, we’ll make our way toward the golden dome of the Colorado State Capitol along Broadway, catching glimpses of government buildings and city life. A quick pause at the Mile High Step—exactly 5,280 feet above sea level—is a must for photos.
We’ll then wind through Civic Center Park, flanked by grand architecture and endless mountain views on a clear day. Along the way, you’ll spot the striking angular lines of the Denver Art Museum, the stately Denver Public Library, and the fortress-like walls of the U.S. Mint, one of the few in the country.
As we loop back, we’ll pass through Larimer Square, Denver’s oldest block. With its canopy of string lights and beautifully preserved storefronts, it’s a perfect blend of past and present. If the vibe and timing is right, we’ll even swing by Denver Central Market in RiNo for a mid-run pick-me-up—maybe a fresh juice, coffee and a pastry, or just a quick moment to soak it all in.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or rediscovering your city, this tour blends movement, murals, and a little mile-high magic. All paces welcome!
