HONG KONG VICTORIA PARK SUNRISE RUN – 11K

Join us for an unforgettable running tour that takes you from the lush greenery of Victoria Park to the vibrant charm of Happy Valley! As the sun rises, you’ll experience the serene beauty of one of the city’s most beloved parks, setting the perfect backdrop for an invigorating morning run.

We begin our tour at the Victoria Park, where the air is crisp and the atmosphere tranquil. As we warm up, take a moment to admire the park’s stunning floral displays. We might run past crowds of the local elderly folk doing their daily exercise routine in the park’s open spaces.

Upon exiting the park, we’ll run along a scenic waterfront route along the Causeway Bay & Wan Chai promenades, where we get to witness firsthand the city coming back to life. The vibrant street life, with local vendors setting up for the day, adds a lively contrast to the peaceful park setting. Keep an eye out for the stunning Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, an architectural icon that is usually front and centre in stock images of the Victoria Harbour. This building hosts international conventions and conferences all year round.

Hong Kong Observation Wheel

This is our final stop along the Promenade before we make a turn towards the more urbanized part of the city. The HK Observation Wheel is a 60-metre (197- foot) Ferris Wheel located at the Central Waterfront. It offers stunning views of the Harbour and provides a unique vantage point for the numerous skyscrapers spread across Hong Kong Island.

Central Business District

We’ll be running across the HK CBD where the various prestigious financial institutions have set up their head offices. During lunch time, these streets are filled with corporate workers dressed in full suits. Keep an eye out for the HSBC Building for a chance to meet “Stephen” & “Stitt” (i.e., the two bronze lions located at the entrance of the building).

Cruising along Star Street and Wan Chai

We’ll make our way along the StarStreet Precinct which is a local neighbourhood that has taken a more modern vibe throughout the past few years of development. You will also notice that there are still numerous older residential buildings within the area – a hodgepodge between the modern and the old. However, the highlight of this section would be the historical Blue House & Yellow House.

Final stretch back to Victoria Park

For horse racing enthusiasts, this will be a treat for you. We’ll pass by the Happy Valley Racecourse and Recreation Ground. Every Wednesday evening, huge crowds gather at the Racecourse to have a great time. Similarly, this also serves as the training ground for most of Hong Kong’s elite runners. A full loop around the course is approximately 1.4 – km long so it’s perfect for long runs or faster intervals
