PARIS IN GREEN – 21K

We will start the tour at the Place de la Bastille, the birthplace of the French Revolution, adjacent to the Paris National Opera and the end of the Canal Saint-Martin.

Within the first few kilometers, we will be stepping onto the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin. Revered by locals, Canal Saint-Martin is a popular spot to hang out, picnic, and even go for a swim on Sunday afternoons. Cafes, bars and vintage boutiques line both banks of the canal. Whether on a sunny summer day or in the middle of winter, the canal is outstandingly beautiful and makes for excellent photos with the mirror-like reflections of the surrounding buildings and trees.

The tour next loops around the Buttes-Chaumont Park, with rolling hills overlooking suburban Paris and towards the center, a lake with a rocky island housing the breathtaking Temple of Sibylle.

Re-entering urban Paris, the tour dives into the heart of the 11^th arrondissement, known for its vibrant street art, restaurants and wine bars, bustling nightlife and boutiques. In the charming Park of Belleville, we will get a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower from the vantage point of the park’s hillside.

On the east side of Paris lies the Bois de Vincennes, the huge 995 hectare/2460-acre park dating back to before Paris was a Roman city. We will run by the beautiful Lac Daumesnil, complete with swans, row boats, and a stunning view of a neoclassical style temple. Even early in the morning, we will see plenty of locals enjoying a leisurely stroll or relaxing along the benches.

We will then turn towards Bastille on the Coulée Verte, the above-ground walkway which inspired the New York City Highline. This walkway offers incredible views of the Haussmanian boulevards of East Paris and features gorgeous gardens and trees on trellises.

PICK-UP SERVICE
Pick-up service from your hotel/apartment or another meeting point is possible and will be checked by the tour provider individually. If your hotel/apartment should be too far away from the city centre or not close to the tour route, then we will meet you at our standard meeting point.
