SEOUL GANGNAM K-POP TOUR 7K

Pop music has been increasingly popular in Korea since the 60s, but the world only witnessed the rise of K-pop within the last decade. It has become a whole new genre that is now beyond music. It’s a trend. A culture.

Go! Running Tour Seoul’s 7k K-pop Tour is not only for K-pop fans but also those who are interested in the modern history of Korea. K-pop’s success initially represents the country’s revival from the Korean War and its miraculous post-war economic growth.

The 7k course kicks off from K-pop street, where you get to take selfies with K-pop bear sculptures that represent your favourite K-pop bands. We move through the luxury boutiques and entertainment companies of the Cheongdam neighbourhood, then take a turn from Starfield COEX Mall, the largest shopping centre in Asia. We will then jog along the outskirts of the burial grounds of Seolleung and Jeongnueng Royal Tombs, then back to the starting point of Apgujeong Rodeo Station.

Our course is located in the “Gangnam” district, literally meaning “South of the River”. The Han River runs horizontally through Seoul and divides the city in half.  On our run, we will be passing through a giant statue of “Gangnam Style”, where we could take a photo in the famous dance pose. The song “Gangnam Style” was popularized by the artist PSY in 2012, was released with unprecedented global success and the area became internationally recognizable.

The 7k route is flat and easy. It’s perfect for both day and night as the streets are wide and well-lit. This tour is perfect for visitors who stay in the Gangnam area and prefer to spend just an hour getting a compact tour of Seoul’s modern history and culture.

PICK-UP SERVICE

Pick-up service from your hotel/apartment or another meeting point is possible and will be checked by the tour provider individually. If your hotel/apartment should be too far away from the city centre or not close to the tour route, then we will meet you at our standard meeting point.
