THE DENVER GRAND TOUR - 21K

Runner on the ground - SARA
Strap in for an unforgettable 21K running experience through Denver’s most iconic neighborhoods, parks, and landmarks. This route is perfect for visitors and locals alike who want to explore the city’s rich layers – historic, artistic, and scenic at your preferred pace.
We begin in the mural-covered streets of RiNo (River North Art District), where vibrant street art and massive warehouse walls tell Denver’s modern storn through color and creativity. This neighborhood is where grafitti meets gallery, especially during the CRUSH Walls festival, and you’ll quickly understand why it’s become one of the city’s most dynamic cultural hubs.
Heading south, we pass through Five Points, once dubbed the “Harlem of the West.” You’ll hear the echoes of jazz greats like Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald as we pass cultural landmarks and new community centers that honor this historically Black neighborhood’s deep roots.
From there, we cruise toward downtown, passing the famous Brown Palace Hotel, one of America’s first fireproof structures, where many famous guests have stayed while in town. We’ll hop onto the infamous Colfax Avenue – often referred to as the “longest, wickedest street in America.” Known for its grit, charm, and legendary dive bars, Colfax is where edge meets its history.
We then wind our way into City Park, the city’s largest greenspace, and home to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Denver Zoo. The real gem here is the panorama view of downtown Denver with the backdrop of the snowcapped Rocky Mountains – a perfect moment to catch your breath and take it all in.
Our next stop is Cheesman Park, an elegant and peaceful stretch of tree-lined paths and wide lawns. But don’t let the serenity fool you – this park sits atop one of the city’s oldest cemeteries, giving it an eerie and fascinating history. We’ll glide past the neoclassical pavilion and maybe share a few ghost stories along the way.
Cutting through Capitol Hill, we’ll make a stop at the Mile High Step at the State Capitol, and soak in the sights around Civic Center Park, flanked by the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Mint. After we’ll descend to the Platte River Trail, where the skyline stretches wide and the city’s idsutrial edge meets natural calm. A short detour leads us by Empower Field at Mile High, where the Broncos play.
The final stretch takes us back towards Union Station, the city’s beating heart of transit and transformation. As we finish the loop, we’ll have covered Denver’s art, soul, grit and grandeur – all in one epic tour.
