The adventure begins at the CN Tower, a towering symbol of Toronto’s skyline and one of the tallest freestanding structures globally. As you start your run, the CN Tower’s presence sets the stage for an exploration of Toronto’s urban environment. A short jog away is Union Station, a bustling transit hub with stunning Beaux-Arts architecture, serving as a gateway to the city since 1927.

Continuing the run, you’ll circle the Rogers Centre, home to the Toronto Blue Jays. This modern engineering marvel, with its fully retractable roof, exudes the city’s passion for sports, especially on game days when the excitement is palpable.

Leaving the downtown core, the route takes you to Harbourfront, where the city meets the tranquility of Lake Ontario. The first stop is Harbour Square Park, offering green spaces and picturesque lake views. As you run along, you’ll pass Harbourfront Centre, a vibrant cultural hub that hosts art exhibits, performances, and festivals year-round.

Next, you’ll reach HTO Park, known for its urban beach setting, with yellow umbrellas and sandy shores that contrast the cityscape. Nearby, the Toronto Music Garden, designed by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and inspired by Bach’s music, provides a peaceful retreat with winding pathways and lush greenery.

The tour continues westward along the waterfront through Coronation Park, a tribute to Canada’s war veterans, where tree-lined paths offer a serene running environment. Trillium Park follows, with panoramic views of the Toronto skyline and Lake Ontario, along with trails celebrating Ontario’s natural heritage.

As the tour nears its end, you’ll arrive at Toronto Inukshuk Park, where a large stone Inukshuk stands as a symbol of guidance and community, reflecting the city’s connection to its indigenous roots. The final stretch takes you to the historic Princes’ Gates, the grand entrance to Exhibition Place, a venue for numerous cultural and entertainment events.

The run concludes at The Bentway, an innovative public space beneath the Gardiner Expressway. This urban trail exemplifies Toronto’s creative reuse of its infrastructure, offering a unique running experience that seamlessly blends the city’s history with modern urban design.

The Toronto Waterfront Run showcases the city’s diverse landscapes, from its bustling downtown to peaceful parks, providing runners with an inspiring blend of urban energy and natural beauty.
