Description
Our run will start in Saint Mark’s square in the early morning, when the square is empty and quiet. We’ll run by Saint Mark’s basilica, gazing at its shimmering golden mosaics and its fancy marbles. We’ll listen to the sound of the bells of the campanile, the tallest bell tower of the city, and we’ll learn how to read the time on the Torre dell’Orologio, a five hundred year old clock tower.
We’ll continue on to the Doge’s Palace to run under its gothic arcades until we reach the most famous bridge of the city: the Bridge of Sighs!
The tour continues along St. Mark’s basin to reach the district of Castello and the monumental entrance of the Arsenale: the complex of shipyards where the Venetians built the ships for their merchants and their powerful fleet. The gate to the Arsenale is watched by two gigantic lions. Would you like to know why? Our run will then proceed to the residential district of Cannaregio, swerving in the winding calles and stepping up and down the bridges; the smell of fresh made coffee coming from the first floor windows will wake us up and give us the energy to reach the Jewish Ghetto. We’ll run by the ancient synagogues and proceed to the Scalzi Bridge across the Grand Canal. It’s time to change district and move to Santa Croce and Dorsoduro district: we’ll see the greatest universities of Venice: the IUAV and the Ca’ Foscari, we’ll go by the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and continue on to the Punta della Dogana. The Dogana was once the custom house of the Most Serene Republic of Venice and it stands right at the entrance of the Grand Canal, giving a view on Saint Mark Venice that will stick with you for quite some time.

Absolutely so worth it! Did my run this morning with Giorgia and it was perfect! She took me around the city and was nice to see everything in the morning without crowds. She knew the city like the back of her hand (she lives here) and was so engaging during the run. Also kept me on a good pace that I didn’t know I had in myself. Recommend this to anyone that wants a great workout and take in the city!

Went for a lovely 10km around Venice with Giorgia as my guide.
Giorgia was an absulte blessing as I wouldn’t have been able to navigate the city without her.
She was fun and excellent to talk with and learn about Venice with.
Would recommend.
Ps there is a lot of bridges to climb.

Alessandro is an amazing runner and guide who will show you those parts of Venice that no every tourist gets to see. From the Jewish quarter to tiny tucked away gardens and open spaces, his running tour is a must do for those who enjoy getting some exercise as well as sight see. Do yourself a favor and book one of his amazing runs. You won’t be disappointed!

Alessandro was a great running guide. He was punctual and friendly. The route was great, he explained clearly a few things we hadn’t picked up on around Venice. It was a fantastic mix of run and a bit of information about the city. Definitely recommend!

Giorgia took me on a 10 km morning run through the empty streets (!) of Venice. It was an absolutely sublime experience. We ran a good pace and still managed to have a great conversation along the way. I would absolutely recommend this tour and team. Kudos to Giorgia & Alessandro!

You might think it is crazy to run at 5 in the morning. But it was worth it. You start in the dark and run toward the sunrise. And all the the time in good companionship of Allessandro who explains the ins and outs of Venice.
I would really recommand this 10km run!

My running guide, Giorgia, was wonderful! She arrived early, ran a good pace, pointed out the city highlights, and told me about her family and herself. I really enjoyed seeing parts of Venice I wouldn’t have found on my own and doing a run I wouldn’t have done without Giorgia by my side.

This was perfect!! Alessandro was knowledgeable and a pleasure to explore with. Going early before it was too warm or too crowded let us enjoy a whole other side of Venice!
Please note that the bridges necessarily make for punchy little climbs rather than a flat course when choosing what distance is right for you. The flexible pace and frequent photo stops definitely take off any pressure though.
I would absolutely recommend this as the best way to see Venice for anyone who enjoys running.

My souvenir from Venice was a run with Alessandro around the city. He was a great guide, and the hour-long run felt so much shorter with great conversation, stops for water and photos along the way, and plenty of beautiful sites from around the city. If you are a runner and find a holiday incomplete without a great run, I highly encourage you to give Alessandro a try. I had the best time and now have a great memory from my trip to Venice.

Great run with Giorgia on Sunday morning. Despite the winds and clouds, we enjoyed our run with her. She guided us throughout Venice and took us thru streets and alleys we wouldn’t have done on our own. We saw sights and places we wouldn’t have thought to see like arsenale and the hospital. She took the to explain and took lots of photos of us. This was not my first running tour with Go Running Tours. I have been quite pleased with the experience. Mixing touring with one’s own passion of running.

I had a wonderful run in Venice with Alessandro in the morning.I did not trust myself to navigate a run but my guide did it brilliantly.
I got to see several beautiful areas. Lots of fountain stops and pics. Would definitely do it again.
