TOUR OF DELHI'S HISTORICAL AND MODERN MILESTONES - 21K
Runner on the ground - RAMESH
Delhi has the distinction of showcasing modern perspectives with historical blending. The Lodi era Garden, with traces of history from 15th Century is one of the most popular gardens amongst morning walkers, runners, school students, senior citizens etc. British had their own take on this Garden during 20th Century, when they named it as Lady Willingdon Park, subsequently renamed as Lodi Garden.
Starting the tour from Lodi Garden, we head towards Oberoi Hotel, and India Gate. Moving past National War Memorial we take the Kartavya Path (path of duty) where we pass along Kartavya Bhawans (newly built government office buildings) etc. On the way we come across the Parliament Building, the topmost decision-making body in a democracy. Passing through DRDO and some other defence and government buildings, we head towards Hifa Chowk. This place commemorates the victory of Indian soldiers in liberating Haifa (Israel) in 1918. Then towards the final leg, we take Nehru Park and Chanakyapuri route housing embassies of majority of foreign nations. Towards the finish line we take a round of the Lodi Garden, with green landscapes and Mughal era tombs and similar structures inside.
