This route is perfect for a 2-2.5 hour tour of everything Washington, DC has to offer, both in nature and in city sights! It provides an introduction to Washington DC’s must-see locations along the national mall, taking guests past the monuments that you read about in history books. The tour will cover a lot of ground around Washington, DC, including the best riverside sights and the most famous monuments, views, and attractions that the capital city has to offer.

The tour will begin in Lafayette Square, directly in front of the White House, where the president of the United States resides. We will head south towards the National Mall. From there we will continue down towards the mall, and alongside the reflecting pool to reach the larger-than-life Lincoln Memorial. We will then make our way along the Potomac River, past the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, to Georgetown. We will cross over the river to make our way to Roosevelt Island, which will feel like we have completely escaped the city and within minutes have found ourselves running in the woods!

Next, we will cross over the iconic Arlington Memorial Bridge and head towards the Tidal Basin, where we will pass one of the newest and most stunning additions to the DC monuments honoring the most prominent leader in the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King Jr. Rounding the tidal basin will take us through the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial and Thomas Jefferson Memorial, and then to the Washington Monument, where we will have a view of the Capitol building off in the distance directly east, the White House directly North, and the Lincoln Memorial directly West.

We will next make our way to the United States Capitol Building, the headquarters of the United States Congress, where we will see the Senate wing to the north and the House of Representatives wing to the south.  We will then make our way back down Capitol Hill and jog past the National Gallery of Art, Museum of Natural History, Air and Space Museum, and back up through the city, allowing for a stop at a coffee shop to end the tour!
