TOUR GUIDE TUESDAY – SIGNE

This Tuesday, Signe will be your Copenhagen bestie, not only giving you local tips on where to eat, drink and hang out, but also sharing her favourite and most fun running guide moments with you. I am already the biggest fan of her idea of the “City Tour Delux” which involves meeting Mads Mikkelsen, as one of the highlights of Copenhagen .

Meet Signe

Favourite running Tour:

I’m all in for the classic Must See City Tour!!

Tour Guide Tuesday - SigneBest thing about conducting running tours:

All the fun things you experience on your run! I remember being photo-bombed by drunk guys in Nyhavn and meeting a crowd of Asian tourists who all wanted to take selfies with me and my guest when we were at the Mermaid – seriously I think my portrait is in at least 157 Asian photo albums!

Most memorable running guest(s):

Must be my first running guest – his name was Mister Bond! Oh, or the Brazilian man who ran with his daughter and loved all the parks in Copenhagen. Oh, or the half marathon tour this summer, where I did not tell anything at all about Copenhagen but talked more about the American election and feminism. Oh, or the half marathon tour with the Scottish doctor who were training to do a 85K run in the Scottish Highland……. Oh, or the tour with the guest who got stuck on a flag pole (luckily she laughed more than I did…… Oh, or the very early 15K tour one winter morning where we ran in newly fallen snow and had the city all to ourselves!!

Why are you a kick-arse guide?

Because – despite the fact that I have been living in Copenhagen for the past 10 years – I always get lost! That ability of mine guarantees the guests a 100% unique, customized tour every time!

Favourite Newline piece of running gear?

My brand new Iconic Thermal Comfort Jacket – seriously I am literally living in that one at the moment!

If you had to create a running tour, which one would it be?

I have heard that it is okay to dream big – so imagine if we could make a “City Tour Delux” and actually run through Tivoli, run through the Zoo, run to the top of the Round Tower, run through the Botanical Garden and the garden’s big greenhouse, run through the Opera and then, end the tour on top of “Blåtårn” on Christiansborg! Of course it should be incorporated in the “City Tour Delux” that Mads Mikkelsen met us by the Mermaid to do a couple of selfies with us!

Favourite local restaurant:

For a quick bite my favorite is the Shawarma Grill House at Strøget (best falafel you have ever tasted – and I lived in Egypt a couple of years ago, so I know what I am talking about!). For a more classy evening I recommend the restaurant Bror. You gotta love a restaurant that serves deep fried balls from a bull!!

Best local tip:

Go to Kayak Bar and hang out on the Palm Beach during summer or get sweaty in their floating sauna during winter! Oh, and of course you should try this amazing and absolute best thing in Copenhagen: you should try a running tour with Running Copenhagen and experience Copenhagen in a way, you have not experienced Copenhagen before!!

Beer of choice:

I am not picky on my choice of beer as long I as drink the beer in the company of good friends sitting on Kayak Bar’s Palm Beach in the Copenhagen Canals!!
